Section 1: Kitchen Print Groups 

A kitchen print group is used to point items to a printer (For instance, the burger part of a receipt may need to be sent to the kitchen printer but the shake part may need to be sent to the shake station).

To Configure a Kitchen Print Group:

  1. Navigate to Kitchen Print Groups under the Grouping section (This can be completed at all levels)
  2. Click on the plus sign and assign a title to the print group (This should be based on location of the printer – for instance kitchen or Shake station)
  3. Click Save
  4. Click on the newly created print group and click items
  5. Click on the plus sign and click on the itemthat should be added to this print group
  6. Repeat this step 5 for all of the items that should be added to this group
  7. Click Save

Section 2: Terminal Print Groups

A terminal print group designates a set of terminals that can be printed to. To complete this configuration, a kitchen print group (section 1), Terminal Print Groups (section 2) and Printers (section 3) will need to be configured. This configuration allows terminals to print specific items to a specified printer

To Configure a Terminal Print Group:

  1. Navigate to Terminal Print Groups under the Grouping section (This can only be completed at the storelevel)
  2. Click on the plus sign and assign a title to the print group
  3. Click Save
  4. Click on the newly created print group and click Terminals
  5. Click on the plus sign and select the terminal(s) from the drop down that should be added to this print group
  6. Repeat this step 5 for all of the Terminals that should be added to this group
  7. Click Save

Section 3: Printers

Qu supports two types of printers: Receipt printers and kitchen printers. Receipt printers print receipts from the POS terminal for payment by the customer. Kitchen printers are used to group items to print to different “kitchens” (think kitchen or smoothie station) for item preparation. Each type of printer requires a different configuration.

Receipt Printers

  1. Navigate to POS terminals within the hardware section.
  2. Click on the Terminal that the printer should be configured for (This will need to be done for each terminal)
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Click the plus sign
  5. Scroll to Printer, select POS Printer Model, and click Next
  6. Select the desired printer model and click next
  7. Click on Settings
  8. Click the plus sign
  9. Scroll to Printer. Specify a printer name. The name should be the same as that specified on the terminal. and click Next

Kitchen Printers

  1. Navigate to Printers within the hardware section.
  2. Click on the plus sign to add a new printer.
  3. Configure Basic Information
    1. Title of the printer
    2. Configure the Path of the printer
      1. This is generally the name of the printer that the terminal is printing to. If the printer is being shared by another terminal, the name will potentially include additional information
    3. Select the printer model
    4. Select whether to Print right side up
  4. Configure Routing
    1. Click on the plus sign
    2. Choose the Kitchen Print Group
    3. Choose the Terminal Group
    4. Click Accept and Save

Section 4: Check Sharing Groups

Check Sharing Groups share checks and clock ins/outs among all of the terminals that have been added to that group.

To create a check sharing group:

  1. Navigate to a storeand click on Check Sharing Groups located under Grouping
  2. Click on the plus sign, assign a Title and click Save
  3. Click on the newly created group and click on the Terminals tab
  4. Click on the plus sign and select the terminal that should be added to the group

Repeat step 4 until all of the required terminals have been added and click Save.
