00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:07,100

In this video we’ll show you how to replace the Magnetic Stripe Reader or MSR on our Touch Terminals.

2

00:00:07,100 --> 00:00:09,966

You’ll need a smaller Phillips head screwdriver.

3

00:00:13,133 --> 00:00:18,533

First turn your terminal around and move the screen so that you can easily access the back.

4

00:00:20,900 --> 00:00:26,533

Then get the 2 phillips screws out on the top and bottom of the MSR.

5

00:00:39,200 --> 00:00:43,266

And gently pull the unit off the terminal.

6

00:00:48,966 --> 00:00:56,266

The connection can be tricky, using your fingernail on the tab closest to the MSR to separate may help.

7

00:00:58,133 --> 00:01:02,333

Then connect the new MSR in the same way.

8

00:01:10,133 --> 00:01:18,333

You’ll want to take some time to press the cable into either the terminal or channels in the MSR to make mounting easier.

9

00:01:30,066 --> 00:01:35,932

Then simply use the 2 screws to mount the new Mag Stripe Reader,

10

00:01:42,333 --> 00:01:47,799

you might have to try a couple times to make sure the cable is not getting caught as you screw it in.

11

00:01:57,966 --> 00:02:01,266

And that’s it, you can return your terminal to service,

12

00:02:01,266 --> 00:02:07,099

there is a test app on your desktop that you can use to make sure the new MSR is working.
