Why Can't I apply Cash Payment? (Next Gen)




 If the till is not claimed when selecting the Cash payment type a "Till Available" message will appear in the payment panel in red.  Also any other buttons that would open the cash drawer will be grayed out.  These buttons include Apply Payment and the Quick Cash Buttons.  If you have permission to perform a No Sale, that button will also be grayed out until the till is claimed. Till security prevents users from closing checks to cash if the configuration for tills has been enabled.  After claiming a till, cash transactions as well as opening the cash drawer using No Sale can only be performed if the same user who claimed the till is also logged into the terminal.

Note: A public till allows multiple users to use the till. If a public till is claimed by a user any other user can login and access the till during the same shift.

To claim a till:

  1. Tap the blue hamburger menu button at the bottom right of the screen
  2. Tap on the “Claim/Close Till” Button
  3. Tap “Claim Till”
    1. If Claiming a Public Till, tap public till in addition to claim till.
  4. Tap “Confirm”

You can now complete cash transactions.

If the till is claimed by a different user:

  1. Log out of the current account
  2. Log in using the specified user
  3. Tap the blue hamburger menu button at the bottom right of the screen
  4. Tap the “Claim/Close Till” Button
  5. Tap “Close Till”
  6. Tap “Confirm”
  7. Log out of the user
  8. Log back in to the previous account
  9. Follow the previous instructions to claim a till
